Financial Analyst
Compensation: $75,000 + Benefits package
Work Schedule: Full time; generally scheduled 40 hours per week Monday-Friday between 8am-5pm, hybrid remote and in person.
Primary Function:
Under the direction of the CEO, the Financial Analyst will complete a variety of tasks related to the financial and operational management of governmental and non-profit organizations. This role will focus on evaluating, analyzing, projecting, and communicating financial and operational metrics and analyses. The ideal candidate will be analytically focused with a desire to grow in public sector accounting.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles is required, and knowledge of governmental accounting and applicable state statutes is preferred.
Skills required include good communication, both written and oral; applying statutory accounting and financial reporting; preparing and conducting financial statements and other appropriate analysis; and using a variety of accounting techniques. Thorough understanding of methods of systems analysis and the principles, design, and procedural methods used in data analysis.
Abilities required include proficiency in the Office 365 environment across a multitude of applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams; being detail oriented; applying analytical and critical thinking. Ability to accurately and independently execute assigned tasks. Ability to translate and communicate financial information to non-financial consumers.
Education and Experience:
Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field plus one (1) year of experience in accounting.
